Control

What strange times we are living in right now. No one could have predicted one day all sports would be on pause, kids all learning from home, and toilet paper would be worth more than gold.

None of us signed up for this, really know how to navigate through it, or have an idea how it will end.

Regardless of what is going on around us it’s important, now more than ever, to control what you can control. Worrying about what you can’t control just wastes time and energy. As much as it can occupy your mind, your time could be used for something much more productive.

The best professional athletes in the world embrace this fully. They aren’t successful because they have so much more talent than everyone else. They are crystal clear on what is within their control mentally and physically, and block out all the noise, propelling them further forward everyday.

I will admit that recently I have had many challenges and have had to constantly remind myself to control what I can control.

I too have got in my own head more times than I can count in the last few weeks. My emotions have been on a weird down sloping roller coaster similar to how the stock market has looked lately. I have the ability to move my roller coaster back in the right direction, at least more than the market.

There are times to laugh, cry, and move forward. Always listen to your emotions, be aware and welcome them, but don’t waste any more time than necessary.

We all must roll on and will get through this together. What good am I to my family, my staff, and our amazing community if I’m down all day? We have the knowledge and tools to help like crazy during this crisis, and I’ll be damned if anything gets in our way.

What good are you to everyone around if you’re stuck in your own head, worrying about what you can’t control?

You can control your happiness and your health, with more time now to focus on them than ever.
