1) How long have you been in CF?
A little over 2 years.
2) How did you come across CF?
I fractured my hand boxing and was looking to find a gym until my hand healed. My ex-husband’s co-worker had just opened a CF gym in AV and asked us to drop in. The drop in WOD was similar to a boot camp workout, which I wasn’t in love with, but there was a class going on when we finished the workout where they were doing a 1RPM deadlift, and I of course asked if I could join in with a few guys that were already partnering 😁. I joined CF that day and never looked back.
3) What are your favorite movements/lifts? What are your least favorite? Any recent PRs you would like to mention?
My favorite lifts are DL and BS…only because I do those well. Least favorite is WBs and bench. I’ve lost some strength in most of my lifts so not too many PRs lately since I’m still working on building back up to my old PRs. I guess one to note is my HPC PR of 130#s. I’ve always struggled with PCs so 130#s is a pretty big deal for me.
4) What is one goal you would like to set for yourself regarding CF?
One goal is the get to the games by 2030 😂 jk
I would say my primary goal is to improve overall at CF. I would say I’m moderately skilled at most movements (minus MUs) so the goal is to improve technique and endurance for all movements and improve my snatch and clean technique.
5) Do you have a favorite girl or hero WOD?
I haven’t done very many hero or girl wods but of the ones I’ve done I would say my favorites are DT and Cindy. I prefer DT since I like barbell work.
6) Where are you from?
Originally from South Korea.
7) If you could have one super power, what would it be and why??
The power to replicate things…like money, NoBulls, Fleo shorts 😂 #ihaveissues
If I really could have a super power I would say the power to heal …physical and emotional pain
8) If you were granted three wishes, what would they be?
1. Less cardio more lifting
2. Lose 10 pounds
3. Shirtless coaches
1. New career opportunity
2. Personal growth
3. Travel the world
9) If you could host a dinner party with any three people, dead or alive, who would you have attend?
My grandmother who passed when I was a teenager because I don’t know very much about my family history so it would be interesting to get some information from her, plus I miss her so it would be awesome to see her again.
The other two would just be my closest friends. Spending time with people I love and cherish is very important to me and since I can’t just invite 3 people to my dinner party, I would invite all of my closest friends and make it a real party.
10) Share one thing that people in the gym would not know about you?
I’m pretty much an open book but I guess most people wouldn’t know that I sing, well used to sing, and wanted to be on Broadway when I was younger.
11) How has CF changed your life?
Physically I’m in the best shape of my adult life. I credit the beer club with this “athletic” body but it’s probably the wods 😆
CF has brought some of the most amazing people into my life. I’ve been really lucky to meet many unique individuals as well build many lasting friendships.
12) Would you like to give any shout outs to those in the gym who have encouraged you or inspired you?
This one is tough because there are many people who have encouraged or inspired me in different ways… I would say Petee for keeping me balanced through my CF journey, Katie for being an awesome athlete but so humble and down to earth and always willing to help me improve, my 5pm crew for making 5pm the best part of my day, my girls for loving and supporting me, and everyone I have the privilege to workout with and hang out with everyday.
