We love highlighting our people, and Tiffany’s journey is one we’re proud of and wanted to share.
Tiffany has been doing Personal Training with us at Reform since December 2020, and works out before the sun comes up 3x a week. She has seen amazing progress in that time. Over her health journey she has lost over 85lbs and, and has found a healthy, consistent lifestyle that keeps her moving in the right direction.
Here are some questions we asked her along with her answers:
What motivated you to start your weight loss journey, and what was the turning point that made you commit to change?
Tiffany:
“The initial motivation came when I saw myself in photos and didn’t like how I looked. The real turning point, however, was when I received bloodwork results showing high cholesterol which was a first for me. I realized I needed to make changes to get healthy and stay healthy, not just for myself but to be present and active for my family.”
How did you approach making changes on your own, and what has been the benefit of working with a coach?
Tiffany:
“When I first started, I tried to tackle too many changes at once, which wasn’t sustainable. That’s when I decided to work with a coach. The biggest benefit has been accountability, having someone who ensures I show up and gives me the structure I need.
As a former high-level athlete, I wasn’t sure how to begin getting stronger and back in shape. My coach created a plan that challenged me while being safe and effective, making the process enjoyable and sustainable.”
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced along the way, and how did you overcome them?
Tiffany:
“The hardest part was managing my expectations. I’d get frustrated when I wasn’t where I thought I should be, whether in weight loss or performance. Talking with my coaches helped me see that breaking years of unhealthy habits wouldn’t happen overnight.
I learned to trust the process, focus on consistency, and accept that progress takes time. Shifting my mindset to embrace the journey rather than rush to the destination has been a game-changer.”
What changes have you noticed, both physically and mentally, since you started?
Tiffany:
“Physically, the weight loss is significant, but it’s more than that. I have more endurance and actually enjoy being active. My cholesterol is back to normal without medication, which I’m incredibly proud of.
Mentally, I’ve regained confidence. I want to be in photos again, whereas before, I’d hide behind the camera or others. I also maintain balance, even on vacation, staying active while allowing room for the occasional indulgence.”
What advice would you give to someone just starting their fitness and nutrition journey?
Tiffany:
“Give it more time than you think you’ll need, real change takes longer than expected. Start small and build from there. For example, get consistent with your workouts before focusing on diet. Celebrate small wins along the way and don’t give up, even when progress seems slow.
The scale isn’t everything. Look for non-scale victories, like your clothes fitting better or feeling more energized. Most importantly, find a space where you feel comfortable and supported. Fear of judgment held me back at first, but focusing on my reasons for change helped me push through.”
Conclusion:
Tiffany’s journey is a good example of the power of commitment, support, and trusting the process. Progress isn’t always linear, but consistency always plays out.
Congratulations Tiffany, your commitment, consistency and determination has improved your life immensely, and we’re so happy for you! 😊
