Coaching Staff

The CrossFit Reform coaching staff is made up of caring, knowledgeable and certified coaches, with over 40 years of CrossFit coaching experience. Everyone comes from a different fitness background, but their objectives are all the same: to bring the best experience in health and fitness!

Eric Conner

Owner & Founder

Eric grew up playing soccer, locally with the Pateadores and Mission Viejo High School, and collegiately with UCLA and USF. He found CrossFit while pursuing a professional soccer career in 2009, and found exactly what he was looking for. He has always been determined to improve and has a passion for helping others.

He was immediately convinced through CrossFit’s methodology, and has committed to coaching and improving other’s lives. He has been coaching CrossFit since 2009, and loves meeting, connecting with, and helping people. He founded CrossFit Reform in 2013 and loves the positive, healthy and fun environment within his staff and community.

Corey Smith

Head Coach

Corey grew up playing basketball for most of his life in Oklahoma. After basketball he was looking for a way to challenge himself physically and mentally. He found CrossFit in 2011 and it was a perfect fit.

He loves how much of an impact CrossFit had on his life and wants to share that with every person who steps in Reform. The best part of his day is seeing someone accomplish something they never thought was possible. Corey has worked with people of all ages and walks of life and also runs the Reform Barbell Club. In his free time he enjoys hiking, backpacking, and spending time with his friends and family.

Erik Thorson

Coach, Reform Kid's Director

Erik grew up playing baseball and riding bikes out in the street with the local neighborhood friends. He ended his baseball career in high school and discovered his interest in working out after a year of sport specific training. It was the first week of his senior year of high school that he walked into a CrossFit gym in 2013, and the rest is history.

Erik fell in love with the constant physical and mental challenge, the loud and loose environment of the gym, but most of all the incredible support network of the community. He strives to give back to the community by creating an experience inside the box and within CrossFit. When not in the gym, Erik loves to travel and ride his downhill mountain bike all over the world.

Jesus “Zeus” Olivera

Coach

Jesus grew up playing sports since he was 4 years old. He played soccer, ran cross country and track at Trabuco Hills High School. Soccer was his main sport opening the opportunity for him to play professionally. Because of his passion and competitiveness for athletics, after his professional career came to an end, he began to look for a new challenge and in 2014 he found CrossFit.

He immediately loved it and the impact it had on his life, and wanted to spread that feeling to others. He committed to advancing his coaching and knowledge, and has been with us since. His greatest passion is helping each and every person reach their goal no matter the size.

Jolene Mielke

Coach, Nutrition Coach

Jolene was a competitive gymnast for 16 years, qualifying for Junior Olympic Nationals 3x, and on an athletic scholarship at Boise State University. Jolene was first introduced to CrossFit in 2011 when a coworker suggested she might like it because of all the gymnastics elements. She immediately fell in love with CrossFit, because it challenged her and prioritized her health. She is also very passionate about health and wellness and coaches members on nutrition and healthy eating. She loves helping coach members to reach their full potential, inside and outside the gym.
